Speedy Louisville cornerback Jaire Alexander was taken by the Green Bay Packers with the 18th pick of the first round of the 2018 N-F-L Draft Thursday. The Packers made a pair of trades, moving down from number-14, then back up to take Alexander. Green Bay has an excess of picks, meaning more trades are possible today (Friday). Scouts say Alexander is aggressive on run support and plays with an edge. He immediately becomes the fastest player on the Packers roster with a four-point-38 timing in the 40-yard dash. The five-10, 196-pounder missed more than half of the season his senior year with a lingering knee injury and a broken hand. Alexander is the first defensive back the Packers have taken in the first round since Damarious Randall in 2015.
