New data from the U-S Department of Agriculture shows that Wisconsin cheese production reached record levels in 2017. The state strengthened its position as the nation’s top cheese producer by making over three-billion pounds last year. That accounted for over 26 percent of the country’s production and was the 16th straight year the state broke its previous year’s production record.
