The Wisconsin State Patrol took a suspected bank robber into custody Monday, less than three hours after Old Monona Bank was held up. While Monona police and Dane County deputies were searching the area, the suspect’s car was spotted on Interstate 39 headed south. After initially refusing to stop, spike strips were used to flatten his tires and 30-year-old Anthony D. Jones was arrested. Troopers found a loaded nine-millimeter gun in the vehicle. Jones had been implicated in the armed robbery of a Madison gas station just last week.
