A fire which apparently started in a pile of oily rags spread to eight different homes in Kewaskum Monday. No injuries were reported. The rags were being stored in a container after they had been used to stain a deck. Two of the eight homes were damaged and the others suffered heat damage or minor fire damage. One of the homes that caught on fire was located three blocks away from where the problem started. Kewaskum fire officials say they think the wind blew embers from the original fire, helping it spread.
