The NEW Zoo and Adventure Park has partnered with the American Association of Zookeepers to designate the NEW Zoo as a drop-off recycling site for plastic bags and plastic film. The drop-off site is available for community members to bring approved items through October 31st. Items being accepted are, retail, carryout, produce, newspaper, bread, and dry cleaning bags, zip-top food storage bags, plastic shipping envelopes without labels, bubble wrap and air pillows, product wrap on cases of water/soda bottles, paper towels, napkins, disposable cups, bathroom tissue, diapers, and female sanitary products, furniture and electronic wrap, plastic cereal box, and any film packaging or bag that has the How2Recycle label. Citizens are asked to ensure that the bags are all clean and dry. Most local recycling programs do not allow these items to be recycled in curbside pick-up, so this will be a great way for Green Bay area residents to ensure these items are recycled. For your convenience, a drop-off bin will be located at the front entrance of the Zoo’s Visitor Center.
