On Saturday, May 12 at Green Bay Southwest High School, RivALZ Green Bay will host its Third Annual Blondes vs. Brunettes Charity Football Game benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Wisconsin.
RivALZ is supported by a passionate group of female volunteers who represent a new generation of community leaders. Though rivals on the field, these women unite their teams in the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease through their local fundraising and awareness efforts.
“We are thrilled to have this nationwide event here in Green Bay that will help support our local community members who are affected by Alzheimer’s disease,” says Jessica French, Team Brunette Captain. “Our Green Bay teams are a remarkable group of talented women and we welcome others to join us in tackling Alzheimer’s on and off the field.”
Today, more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease and nearly two-thirds diagnosed are women. In Wisconsin alone, there are 110,000 people living with Alzheimer’s. The funds raised through RivALZ benefit the local care, support and advocacy efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Wisconsin.
Gameday tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the gate, and free for ages 18 & under. Gates will open at 12:00 p.m. with kickoff starting at 1:00 p.m. The event is family-friendly with a kid’s area, games, prizes, and foods available to purchase. Game announcements sponsored by 101 WIXX and feature Fife On the Radio. Photo opportunities with the players will also be available.
