An Appleton Man is dead after a confrontation with police yesterday. The police were at a home on the 100 block of South Mathias Street shortly after 6:00 PM, on a report of disturbance involving a weapon. When they arrived they were confronted by a man carrying a shotgun, which resulted in the man being shot by multiple officers. As is standard in a police involved shooting, the Appleton Police Department has asked the Green Bay Police Department to conduct the investigation of the shooting. The number and names of the officers involved has not been released at this time.
