A Green Bay woman that was abducted nearly twenty years ago spoke recently about her story, and how to remain safe on the internet. Alicia Kozakiewicz was in middle school when the internet began to really catch hold. It was at that time that she met someone online that she believed to be her age. The man then proceeded to kidnap, beat and rape the then 13 year old. Alicia did survive, and is using her story make sure no one else suffers the same fate. She wrote “Alicia’s Law” which provides funding for training for law enforcement agencies to spot potential online predators. Wisconsin is one of 12 states that have enacted the law, and did so in 2016.
