The Manitowoc City Council’s Committee of the whole met last night in closed session to discuss discipline and possible censure against 10th District Alderperson Rheanna Gabriel due to inappropriate conduct. Specifics were not disclosed. Council President Scott McMeans Tells Seehafer news that the motion presented would recommend removing or suspending Gabriel from responsibilities on standing committees she serves on and not removal from serving on the Council. In addition–Gabriel would be unable to meet with any city staff without a previously scheduled meeting and agenda. The motion—voted on in open session passed 5 to 3 with 2 abstensions and one alder excused as he was out of the country. McMeans adds that Alderperson Gabriel will be allowed to serve on those standing committees until the vote May 21st.
