Mishicot’s sewage system backed up, affecting six homes and businesses. According to Utility Supervisor John Tulachka, around 5,000 gallons of sewage water began to flood the buildings at around 10:00 PM on Friday, due to the flooding that ravaged the area. The flood waters had infiltrated the sanitary collection system, which diluted the sewage that entered the utility’s lift station. Tulachka blamed the flood on over saturated soil due to the blizzard last month, followed by three inches of rain. The problem has since been resolved. The DNR has been informed of the incident, and no people were believed to have come in contact with the sewage water.
