The Milwaukee Teachers Education Association denies reports it has been planning a “sick-out” for this coming week. Budget cuts at Milwaukee Public Schools have the union’s membership up in arms. Broadcast reports indicated teachers were going to call in sick on Monday and substitutes were told to make themselves unavailable. M-T-E-A President Kim Schroeder says the union hasn’t called for a sick-out. The Milwaukee Board of Education will discuss the budget at its meeting next week.
