With supporters filling the gallery, a Prairie du Chien principal made his first court appearance last Wednesday. Aaron Amundson is charged with felony child abuse in Crawford County. While serving as a principal at Bluff View Intermediate School he used a chemical cleaner to remove a swear word on a student’s hand. The student suffered chemical burns. Amundson’s attorney says there’s no denying what happened, but the legal argument centers on whether his client was reckless. Amundson returns to court May 31st when the judge will consider his motion to dismiss the charge.
