A Chilton man has died of his injuries after a motorcycle vs. car crash on Sunday in Calumet County. Sheriff’s Department officials say they were notified of the collision at around 10:15 AM at the intersection of Highway 57 and County E in the Town of Chilton. 55 year old James Schwamer was operating the motorcycle and was northbound on 57, when the other unit made a turn into the path of the oncoming vehicle. Calumet Count Coroner Michael Klaeser said Schwamer suffered multiple injuries and was transported by helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center where he died shortly after admission. Schwamer’s wife, Dawn was also taken to the Neenah facility with serious injuries. The 33 year old Milwaukee man, who was driving the other vehicle, wasn’t injured, but a female passenger was taken to Ascension Calumet Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Authorities said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash and the investigation is ongoing.
