A former Manitowoc Lincoln High School student-athlete had some impressive finishes this weekend at the Big-12 Track & Field Championships in Waco, Texas. Eric Fogltanz a redshirt sophomore for the ‘Cyclones’ of Iowa State University, set a personal best time while taking second place in the 400-meter hurdles yesterday at Baylor. Seehafer News was told that Eric’s time was 50.18-seconds, or 1.3 seconds better than his previous best set in the preliminaries on Saturday. It was also the 3rd fastest time for the event in Iowa State history. Fogltanz, who is a junior academically, also ran a leg on ISU’s 5th place 4-by-400 meter relay team in a clocking of 3:07.32. That overall time was 8th fastest in school history. The son of Don & Mary Fogltanz..spent one year at UW-Stout where he was a 2-time Division-3 All-American..before ‘transferring’ to the D-1 school in Ames, Iowa.
