The U.S. recently moved their embassy to Jerusalem, causing a lot of unrest in the nation of Israel. The move was a long time coming, as congress voted to recognize the city as the undivided capital back in 1995, with very little opposition. The Senate vote passed 93-5, and the House agreed by a vote of 374-37, but past presidents continued o use a national security waver to delay the moving of the embassy, until President Donald Trump approved the move on May 14th. Congressman Glen Grothman who represents the 6th congressional district praised the move saying in a news release, “This has been a bipartisan wish of Congress for a long time.” He went on to say, “It is long overdue to recognize it (Jerusalem) as the capital today and I thank President Trump for keeping his campaign promise to do so.”
