The Milwaukee Brewers wasted a seven-inning, two-hit performance by starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin in a 2-1 loss at Arizona Tuesday night. Chacin was proud of his performance, but would have rather seen his team pul lout the win.
The Diamondbacks ended a six-game losing streak with the victory when Daniel Descalso singled in a run in the bottom of the eighth. Travis Shaw knocked in Milwaukee’s only run with a double in the fourth and the two teams had remained tied until Descalso’s run-scoring grounder. Manager Craig Counsell says his team battled, but things just didn’t bounce their way in the 8th.
Trevor Williams took the loss, although it was Boone Logan who gave up the game-winning hit. Right-hander Brandon Woodruff starts today’s (Wednesday’s) series finale at 2:40 P-M.
