The Manitowoc Police Department is asking the public for assistance in locating the owner of a dog that bit someone when they crossed paths on the 1800 block of Marshall Street yesterday evening. According to Captain Matt Wallander, the victim informed police that he was walking sometime between 4:00 and 4:30 PM when he crossed paths with a man and his dog that looked similar to a German Shepherd. The dog jumped on the victim and scratched and bit him before the owner could control the dog. The victim had a short conversation with the owner, who was described as a white male with a husky build in his early 30’s with sort blonde hair and facial hair. The MPD is looking for the owner so they can obtain proper documentation for the K9. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the department at 686-6551.
