The Brewer batters started the game off strong, hitting four long-balls in the first four innings, then coastingpast Arizona 8-2 Wednesday afternoon, taking two-out-of-three games in the series. On top of the Shaw and Santana homers, Matt Koch was touched for the homers by Christian Yelich and Tyler Saladino. Brewer starter Brandon Woodruff held Arizona to one hit in his five innings of work, then three relievers pitched four scoreless innings to wrap up the victory. Woodruff praised the offencive help he received.
Trips west have been something of an adventure for Milwaukee in the past, but the team took five-of-seven in visits to Denver and Phoenix this time. The Brewers continue to hold on to first place in the division while Ryan Braun missed the entire series with back tightness. The road trip continues with a three-game series starting tomorrow (Friday) night in Minnesota.
