A 31-year-old Minnesota man is accused of setting a church in Fountain City on fire. The incident happened Wednesday morning at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Jessie Tyler Bromaghim is facing charges of criminal damage to personal property. Investigators say Bromaghim set a fire in the church’s basement, broke a large statue by tipping it over and threw items off a third-floor balcony onto the church pews. Smoke and water damage was done to the structure. Police say the suspect admits to vandalizing the church. If he is convicted, he could be sentenced to up to three-years in jail and fined 10-thousand dollars.
