State officials are touting Wisconsin’s positive economic and job numbers. A release by the U-S Bureau of Labor Statistics shows the state’s record-low unemployment rate of two-point-eight percent in April was fifth lowest in the country, and tied Iowa for lowest in the Midwest. The state’s 13-thousand-700 jobs added in manufacturing from April 2017 to April 2018 ranks second nationally, and the 68-point-nine-percent labor participation rate is number five in the U-S. Workforce Development Secretary Ray Allen said in a statement, “Wisconsin’s robust manufacturing industry is growing, we have more people employed than ever before, and the number of unemployed Wisconsinites is approaching record lows as our unemployment rate is among the lowest in the country.”
