A judge has sentenced a former student at Missouri University of Science and Technology to seven years in prison for killing her fiance from Wisconsin. Meghan Werner was originally charged with second-degree murder, but she agreed to plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter. She admitted killing 22-year-old Curt Marzolf of Monroe in the home they shared in December 2015, one week before Marzolf was to graduate with an engineering degree. Werner had first told investigators Marzolf committed suicide.
