The closing of the Watertown Metal Products plant means about 85 workers will lose their jobs over the next few months. The Department of Workforce Development has been notified layoffs will start in July and all operations at the plant should cease by the end of October. The factory has been located in central Wisconsin for more than 50 years, making it an institution for the local community. It makes parts and fabricated assemblies for markets like agriculture, outdoor power equipment, food service and consumer appliances.
