The Green Bay Police Department has welcomed five new members to the force and you could say their newest members have a nose for police work. Five K-9s were introduced at a meet and greet yesterday. The dogs will go by the names of Bose, Drago, Pyro, Puma, and Rocco, and will join Neo and George in the GBPD K-9 unit. Green Bay Police Chief Andrew Smith called the members of the unit, dual purpose dogs “meaning, not only are they doing narcotics but they also search for people… not only do they search for explosive devices but they also search for people.” Based on a report conducted in December, the GBPD had lost five K-9s in the line of duty over the previous 18 months.
