A Manitowoc Lincoln High School graduate & former State Track champion will now prepare for the Division-1 College championships! At the NCAA West Regional in Sacramento, California this weekend Eric Fogltanz, a redshirt sophomore at Iowa State University, qualified for ‘Nationals’ in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 50.63 seconds Friday evening. The former ‘Ship’ then came back on Saturday to ‘anchor’ the ‘Cyclones’ qualifying 4-by-400 meter relay team..that’s going to Eugene, Oregon June 6th thru 9th after their time of 3:05.40. Eric, the son of Don & Mary Fogltanz, holds Iowa State’s 3rd best time in the 400 hurdles at 50.18 while the Relay time is also #3 in school history. We were also told that ‘Valders’ High school grad Chris Evenson competing for the University of North Dakota in the West Region, wound up 42nd– in the discus following a throw of 1-hundred-61-feet, 8-inches.
