Kenosha police are trying to identify the 25-to-30-year-old woman whose body was found in the Pike River Monday morning. A 9-1-1 caller reported the unresponsive woman in the water near Pennoyer Park, where the river flows into Lake Michigan. The incident marks the second time since 2016 a body has been found in that river on Memorial Day. “No Swimming” signs are posted along the riverbank due to the strong currents caused by Lake Michigan. Police haven’t confirmed if Monday’s discovery is connected to an empty dinghy which washed ashore Sunday night.
