The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region office is reminding motorists of the project to install median cable barrier and a high-friction polymer overlay throughout a 6.2 mile stretch of I-43 from Wilson Lima Road in Sheboygan County to Fischer Creek Road in Manitowoc County begins today. Various bridge surface repairs and concrete deck repairs will also take place. Motorists will encounter various, short-term and multiple-day single lane closures on I-43 between Wilson Lima Road and Fischer Creek, but at least one lane will be open to traffic at all times. Lane closures will not be permitted during certain high-volume travel times such as 4th of July Holiday weekend and Lambeau Field events either. The project is expected to finish by the end of August 2018.
