The developer in charge of building the Judge Doyle Square project in downtown Madison is accusing the city of violating its contract. Chicago-based Beitler Real Estate filed the federal suit in the Eastern Division of the U-S District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The Madison Common Council approved an additional 11-million dollars to complete the downtown project with some changes. Beitler Real Estate says it wasn’t consulted about the proposal — and that violates its deal with the city. The federal court is being asked to stop the construction work.
