The Green Bay Police Department has been working with the Wisconsin Department of Natural resources since May 17th to determine the DNA tests of a confiscated animal believed to be a wolf hybrid. In the investigation, Humane Officer Mallory Meves was informed by family members of the dog’s owner that the animal was a wolf-hybrid. DNA tests were completed and determined that neither the dog that bit the victim on May 17th nor the other two dogs that were confiscated days after the incident were wolf hybrids. All three dogs have been returned to the owner and the citation for keeping an exotic animal has been requested to be dismissed. However the owner was told to apply for an excess animal permit as only two dogs are permitted per family dwelling.
