Green Bay native Tony Shalhoub is now a Tony winner. Shalhoub claimed the top honor at Sunday night’s Tony Awards in New York as “Best Actor in a Musical.” It is his first Tony after four nominations. Shalhoub won for his performance in “The Band’s Visit” where he plays the leader of an Egyptian orchestra that ends up making an unplanned stop in a small Israeli town. Shalhoub dedicated the award to his father who arrived on a boat from Lebanon at New York’s Ellis Island in 1920 at age 8.
