A Madison hospital won’t lose access to the Medicare program after the completion of several federal investigations.  UnityPoint Health-Meriter has been cleared by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.  The first inspection by C-M-S was brought on by allegations of abuse in Meriter’s neo-natal intensive care unit.  Five newborns were found with bruised arms and legs, including one with a broken arm.  The license for the nurse involved has been revoked.  Madison police are investigating the abuse reports.
