A 31-year-old Madison suspect is accused of trying to extort 50-thousand dollars from the man charged with a kidnapping and sexual assault in Monona. Investigators say Cory J. Ivy contacted the accused kidnapper through his attorney saying he could make the case go away for that amount of money. Matthew E. Levin allegedly picked up the victim on the city’s east side in March after offering her a ride. She says he drove her to his auto shop and sexually assaulted her. Ivy reportedly told Levin the woman would say the incident was a mistake and wouldn’t show up in court. Police set up a sting and arrested Ivy May 16th.
