That third inning bomb by Lorenzo Cain was the only run scored by either team, as the Milwaukee Brewers took two-out-of-three from the Chicago Cubs with a 1-0 win yesterday. Pitching was again the story, as Jhoulys Chacin and three relievers blanked the Cubs on six hits in Wednesday afternoons victory. Chacin spoke about his performance.
Chacin picked up his sixth win in seven decisions and Cory Knebel was perfect in the ninth inning for his sixth save. Knebel called it his best outing of the season.
Milwaukee has won three-of-11 games against Chicago but leads the Cubs by a game-and-a-half in the N-L Central Division. Manager Craig Counsell spoke of the magnitude of the series win.
The Brewers have an off-day today (Thursday), then start a three-game series against Philadelphia Friday at home.
