Manitowoc Lincoln High School Football Coach Rick Ducat is entering his ‘4th’ season as the leader of the Ships program. Seehafer Sports spoke recently with him about this fall’s outlook.
Coach Ducat says they’re going to run more power packages on Offense this year with the return of senior Malcom Young who’s expected to get plenty of carries from the fullback Position.
The Ships coach said elsewhere on the offensive side of the ball they have some quality kids but lack playing experience. He says 3 to 4 kids are expected to play both ways and the defense will feature more looks this season. Josh Hoffman & Bryson Roulette were sharing reps at Quarterback Gavin Stradal & Kaeden Mathiesen will handle split end duties, while on defense Shea Grosshuesch, Andrew Townsend & Harley Wittmus return. Count Ducat among those who are excited to have his young men compete on the newly renovated Rubick Field.
The Lincoln Ships play their Home Opener on Thursday, August 23rd against Green Bay Preble. Their season opener is this Thursday evening at DePere. That contest against the Redbirds will be broadcast on 980-W-C-U-B. The Packer game is being aired on WOMT.
