Manitowoc – The Lord called Lila H. Vogt to his Heavenly home on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.
Lila was born on October 31, 1931 in the town of Newton, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Lester and Linda (Schreiber) Luebke. She graduated from Kiel High School and Sheboygan County Teacher’s College. Lila taught rural schools in Sheboygan and Manitowoc counties. She continued her education and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Silver Lake College. Lila retired in 1996 after 22 years as the Activity Director at Shady Lane Nursing Home. She married Arland E. Vogt on May 31, 1952. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1996. Lila was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and had been active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society and the Central African Medical Mission.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law: Victoria Vogt; grandson: Andrew and Kristina Vogt and children: Elizabeth and Caleb; grandson Jonathan Vogt and special friend: Christine Wold; and granddaughter: Kathrine and Benjamin Raddatz and children: Ellyanna and Titus. Also survived by a son: Russell and Anne Vogt; granddaughter: Amanda and Bjorn Hansen and children: Kira and special friend: Chris Blue and Logan; grandson: Jonah and Jamie Vogt and children: Luke and Ryan; granddaughter: Liesl and Nick Gansch and children: Piper and Hannah; and grandson: Josiah and Naomi Vogt and son: Benjamin. Also survived by a son Steven and Susan Vogt. Lila is survived by three brothers: Harold (Ann) Luebke, Roy Luebke and Wayne Luebke; a brother-in-law: Alvin Kracht, three sisters-in-law: Myra Luebke, Naomi Luebke and Julianne Luebke, nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son: Jeffrey on January 11, 2000, three brothers: Henry, Alfred and David Luebke and a sister: Loretta Kracht.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Rev. Robert Kujawski and Rev. Stephen Melso will officiate with entombment to take place at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call on Monday at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State Street, Manitowoc from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials would be appreciated to Bethany Ev.
