Frank E. Podner, age 85, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Friday evening, August 24, 2018 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum. Military rites will be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post #659.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Newton. The visitation will continue Wednesday morning, August 29, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community.
Survivors include his wife: Elinor Podner, Manitowoc; his children: Bob Podner, Murphy, Texas, Natalie (Jay) Brochtrup, Cedar Grove, Wisconsin, and Brian (Brandi) Podner, Pacific, Missouri; six grandchildren: Brent, Kelly and Ethan Brochtrup and Evan, Olivia and Logan Podner; one sister-in-law: Elaine Wolfe, Marion, Illinois; one niece; and one grand-niece and one grand-nephew. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Steve and Verna (Marinak) Podner and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: George and Frances Miller.
