Shirley M. Kieffer, age 80, a resident of Manitowoc, peacefully entered eternal life on October 16, 2018 at her residence.
Shirley was born on January 23, 1938 in Appleton to the late Arnold and Lorraine Peik Spatchek. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1956. On June 8, 1957, Shirley married Paul A. Kieffer at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2014. Shirley was a longtime employee of Fairview Market from 1966 to 1998. She enjoyed gardening and spending her time with her family and friends – especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley was a very dedicated member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and was active in many of the church’s organizations.
Survivors include Shirley’s two children, Randy (Chris) Kieffer, Hershey, PA; and Debra (Jerry) Christel, St. Nazianz; four grandchildren, Nathan (Heather) Kieffer, Megan (Keith) Luckow, Joseph (Carina) Christel, and John Christel; four great grandchildren, Dean, Aria and Lyra Kieffer, and Emma Christel; sister, Darlene (Steve) Roepke, Manitowoc; also other relatives and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Lorraine Spatchek; husband, Paul; two sisters, Caroline Luchterhand and Mary Jane Sittman; also many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier with entombment to take place at Knollwood Mausoleum.
