James L. Danforth, age 74, a resident of Wausaukee, formerly of Manitowoc, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.
Jim was born on July 8, 1944 in Manitowoc to the late Forrest and Ethel (Nelson) Danforth. When Jim was very young, his mother Ethel passed away and Forrest then married Marjorie Hermann. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1962. Jim was previously employed at Falk Hardware, Manitowoc Engineering, I.D.C. in Green Bay, and then retired from Federal Mogul. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing and boating.
Survivors include Jim’s three children, Scott (Tammy) Danforth, Bradenton, FL; Mark Danforth, Kansas City, MO; and Jamie Zuege, Francis Creek; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; two brothers, Forrest (Jill) Danforth, Washington Island; and Jon (Lynn) Danforth, Manitowoc; two sisters, Paula Danforth, Ocala, FL; and Lisa (Rick) Bartz, Stoughton; the mother of his sons, Ella Schoknecht, Manitowoc; mother of his daughter, Shirley Zuege, Tisch Mills; also other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Ethel Danforth; and stepmother, Marjorie Danforth.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel.
