Geraldine M. Yelmene, age 83, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life at her residence on Thursday afternoon, December 27, 2018.
Geraldine was born on July 11, 1935 in Brown County. She was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Margaret O’Hearn Reedy. Geraldine had been employed with the Dramm Company for many years from where she retired. On December 26, 1955 she married James Yelmene at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2009. Geraldine was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
She Is survived by one son: Terry Yelmene, Manitowoc; two daughters: Karen (Mark) Flunker, Shawano; Renee (Kevin) Derenne, Manitowoc; three sisters: Joyce Plansky, Green Bay; Kathleen (Tony) Plansky, Green Bay; Mary Ellen Harvey, Washington; six grandchildren: Kagen Yelmene, Garrett Yelmene, Michelle Flunker, Kayla Flunker, Dalton Dereene, and Zane Dereene; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ambrose and Margaret Reedy; one son: Leon Yelmene; three brothers: Lester, Glenn, and Tom Reedy.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Mishicot. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
