Frederick H. “Fritz” Blashka, age 89, of 1901 S. 10th Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon, January 2, 2019 at Felician Village, Next Step, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Avenue) Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by V.F.W. Otto Oas Post #659.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday (TODAY) January 4, 2019. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. led by Deacon Alan Boeldt. The visitation will continue Saturday morning at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the morning prayer services at 11:15 a.m.
Survivors include his wife: Karen Blashka, Manitowoc; five sons and daughters-in-law: Don and Barb Blashka, Menasha, Bruce and Pamela Blashka, Newberry, Fl., Brian and Ellen Blashka, Manitowoc, Jeff and Stacey Blashka, Fox Crossing, Todd and Jean Blashka, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law: Connie and Kevin Vanderlinden, Janesville, WI.; 15 grandchildren: Jillian, Austin, James, Alyxandrea, Matthew, Jason, Michael, Joe, Leah, Rachael, Regina, Emily Casey , Joshua and Angela; 11 great grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law: Caroline Blashka, Shelly Keil, Cathy Bruce, all of Manitowoc, and Judith Bruce, Florida. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Rose (Niespodzainy) Blashka; six brothers and three sisters-in-law: Ted & Sylvia Blashka, Ed Blashka, Joe Blashka, Clarence & Lucille Blashka, Cyril & Bernice Blashka and William Blashka; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Jose and George Novak, Irene & Alex Wicihowski; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Donald & Susan Bruce; a sister-in-law: Bonnie Bruce; and two brothers-in-law: Jerry Bruce and LeRoy Bruce.
