Norbert E. “Norb” Braun, age 85, lifelong resident of Whitelaw, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Maritime Gardens Assisted Living in Manitowoc with his loving family at his side.
Norb was born on August 16, 1933 in the town of Cato, son of the late Anton and Louise (Lemberger) Braun. He served in the United States Army as an SP4 from 1954 until 1956 in the 495th AAA Missile Battalion located at Fort Bliss, Texas. On May 5, 1956 Norb married C. Gail Gintner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2014. Norb and his wife worked the family farms in the Towns of Cato and Franklin for many years. Norb was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Anton and Louise Braun; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Louis and Clara (Wallander) Gintner; three brothers: Anton “Tony” Braun Jr.; Herbert Braun; Elmer Braun; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Gertrude (Wilbert) Hastreiter; Janet (W.D.) McDaniel; Vivian (William) Rychtarik; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Roman Manlick; Louis (Carol) Gintner; Angeline (Izzy) Mahloch; Florence (Emil) Tienor; Leo (Delores) Gintner; Jack Gintner; Earl Gintner; Kenneth Gintner; Richard Gintner; Joseph (Rosie) Gintner; granddaughter-in-law: Maria (Walton) Braun.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 110 West Menasha Avenue, Whitelaw. Rev. Richard Klingeisen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, January 27 at the church from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A parish prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville assisted the Braun family with funeral arrangements.
