Margaret M. Neuchter, age 63, town of Mishicot resident, died peacefully Sunday morning, January 27, 2019 at River’s Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with cancer.
Margaret was born in Manitowoc on August 7, 1955 to Walter P. and Elizabeth A. (Mangin) Massman. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1973. On August 24, 1979, she married John J. Neuchter at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Margaret was employed at Manitowoc Engineering from 1973 to 1985. She later worked as a teachers aide at Holy Cross Catholic School in Mishicot from 1991 until 1996, and also at Two Rivers Catholic Central School (T.R.C.C.S.) from 1997 until 2001. She then continued to work in childcare at the Manitowoc/Two Rivers YMCA for the next 12 years. Margaret enjoyed playing bingo with her sisters; watching Bucks Basketball and Packer Football with her husband, John; and going for rides with her son, Bill, in his truck.
Survivors include her husband, John J. Neuchter; one son, William J. Neuchter of Mishicot; one brother, Peter Massman of Rockwood; three sisters and five brothers-in-law: Charlotte Baker of Rockwood, Kathleen (Gary) Yanda of Mishicot, Joan (Bob) Kellner of Manitowoc, James J. Hill of Reedsville, Robert T. Green of Two Rivers, and James G. Morrow of Manitowoc. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Agnes (Bob) Petersen of Racine; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Elizabeth Massman; one sister, Jean Hill; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Isabel Neuchter; and by two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Annabelle Green, Shirley Morrow, Joseph J. Neuchter, and August Neuchter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Jeffrey Briones, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Saturday morning from 9:00 until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
