Manitowoc Lincoln High School has formally announced the hiring of a new head football coach. According to a news release from Athletic Director Dave Steavpack last night, Greg Enz, will take over the Ships program this Fall. Enz will replace Rick Ducat , who resigned at the end of last season. Greg has served as the head varsity football coach at Big Foot High School in Walworth, Wisconsin the past 5-years. Previous to that, he was an assistant coach at Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida for a year after being the head coach at Little Chute from 2000-to 2013 and Sheboygan North in 1998 & ’99. His teams have earned four conference titles and qualified for the WIAA playoffs 11-times. Coach Enz issued a statement saying, “I would like to thank the Manitowoc Public School District, Lincoln High School and the administration for giving me the opportunity to lead the Manitowoc Ships Football program. The tradition of this community has resounded with me for decades. He also added, “From coaching against the Ships to building relationships with former head coaches Ron Rubick & especially John Dixon & his family, I have always held Manitowoc in high regard. My family & I are looking forward to being a part of the school and community.”
The general public is invited to attend a “Meet the Coach Night” this Sunday evening, March 17th starting at 6:00 o’clock in the Lincoln auditorium where people can introduce themselves to Coach Enz and his family.
