Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels
Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels and members of the Common Council are going to be honoring a couple of citizens for their willingness to volunteer during the Common Council meeting next Monday. The two people being honored are Randy Heinzen and Laura Ziemer. Heinzen worked with the Lakeshore Weekend event, as well as the Manitowoc Youth Baseball Association. Ziemer works a lot with members of the special needs community, including the Miracle League of the Lakeshore, which is a baseball program for those with mental and/or physical disabilities. Mayor Nickels created the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2015, with the inaugural winner being the amazing Tom Drill.
