The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park and the Green Bay chapter of the American Association of Zoo
Keepers (AAZK) are inviting the public to join them for World Otter Day tomorrow. “There are 13 species of otters in the world, several of which are endangered and need our help,” Operations Manager Patricia Jelen explained. During the event, visitors can learn more otters while visiting the resident North American River Otters at the zoo. There will be children’s activities and opportunities to learn about saving the otters that call Wisconsin home. Learn more about the resident otters during a daily “Otter Exhibit Chat” at 12:00 p.m. and watch as they interact with a special enrichment activity. In addition to educational information about otters, there will be animal-themed crafts for sale to raise funds for the International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF). All the crafts are made by members of the Green Bay chapter of AAZK and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to IOSF.
