With the start of the Packers football season on Thursday against the Chicago Bears, another iconic figure begins his 50th season at Lambeau Field. Al Hale, 82, of Bellevue has been a beer vendor and concession stand attendant for Green Bay Sportservice for over 50 seasons. Packers fans would recognize Hale as he always sells beer in Section 117-119 by the 50-yard line. Hale loves the comradery he has formed with the regulars, saying “Year in year out, I get to see fans return each season. Me and the old-time guys, we’ve been selling beer for 20-30 years. I get to know people and change with them. It’s surprising when I’m grocery shopping and someone recognizes me from the stadium.” He also said that while he is a huge fan of the Green and Gold, he is an even bigger fan of the Packers-fans.
