A waitress at Fat Joe’s Bar and Grill in Fond du Lac was fired earlier this week because she reportedly refused to serve a table that had made transphobic remarks about another customer. Brittany Spencer was initially just sent home for the evening, but after posting on Facebook about what happened, management at Fat Joe’s decided to fire her. When asked about the situation, the owner of the establishment, Whitney Wallender said “We just made the business decision that we can’t have employees that aren’t going to make us look good as an establishment.” The Facebook page for Fat Joe’s had to be taken down due to the intense backlash they received following the initial incident, but uis expected to be put back up soon.
