The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) is reminding farmers that the deadline to apply for 2020 Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) Coverage for perennial crops is fast approaching.
NAP offers protection from weather related conditions for producers who grow crops that are not eligible for coverage through the Federal Crop Insurance Program. This includes crops like apples, grapes, honey, and maple sap just to name a few.
The cut off for applications for NAP is November 20th.
For more information on the program, growers in Calumet County should contact the Chilton FSA Office at 849-3570, ext. 2, growers in Manitowoc County should contact the Manitowoc FSA Office at 683-5119, ext. 2 and growers in Sheboygan County should contact the Plymouth FSA Office at 467-9917, ext. 2.
