Clifford A. Stock, age 77, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at River’s Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc after a long battle with illness.
Clifford was born on November 7, 1942 in the town of Newton to the late Walter and Emma (Erdmann) Stock. He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church, Newton and attended White Trail school house. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1960.
On July 6, 1963 Clifford married the former Arlene Free at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. On March 16, 1964 they were blessed with son, Gregory. On February 23, 1965 they were graced with son, Todd. On July 23 1968 they were also blessed with son, Douglas. Then on December 18, 1970 they were graced with daughter, Wendy.
Clifford began working at the feedmill in Newton in 1960 and in 1961 began working at Hamilton Industries until his retirement in 2007. He enjoyed camping and the outdoors, traveling to numerous state and county parks in the summers. Clifford was also an avid woodworker and enjoyed making wood crafts and projects. He also loved playing cards once a month with friends.
Survivors include his wife: Arlene Stock, Manitowoc; four children: Gregory (Victoria) Stock, Appleton, Todd (Karen) Stock, Knoxville, TN, Douglas Stock, Neenah, Wendy (John) Meyer, St. Nazianz; eight grandchildren: Ashley Stock, Christopher Stock, Ethan Stock, Emily Stock, Brianna Stock, Rachel Stock, Scott Meyer and Rose Meyer; one great-grandchild: Ella Stock; siblings: Jeanette Junk, Manitowoc, Lorraine Thone, New Holstein, Willard Stock, VA, Darlene (Fred) Schnell, Manitowoc, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Pearl Stock, Manitowoc, Marcella Stock, Sun Prairie, Qualine Stock, FL, Eugene and Beatrice Free, Manitowoc, Janice Woyciehosky, Manitowoc, Joann (Jim) Schamburek, Manitowoc, Carol (Martin) Puls, Manitowoc, Joan Free, Manitowoc; godchildren: Neil Free, Michelle Schamburek, and Scott Free, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Emma (Erdmann) Stock; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Clarence and Elmira (Karstaedt) Free; six brothers and three sisters-in-law: Norman (Marion) Stock, Milton Stock, Leroy (Ilene) Stock, Garfield Stock, Roger Stock, Roland (Grace) Stock; one sister and brother-in-law: Verna (Ned) Zander; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law include: Allen and Kathy Free, Phillip Woyciehosky, Wayne Free, Phyllis Free, Raymond Thone and Kenneth Junk.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7th, 2019 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1712 Menasha Avenue, Manitowoc. Rev. Zachary DeArmond will officiate with entombment at the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, we request a monetary donation that will be given to the National Parkinson Foundation.
