A Manitowoc man is facing charges after he allegedly spit on a police officer.
Officers were called to the Sabora House in the 1500 block of Marshall Street on a report of an individual sleeping in the hallway.
The callers told officers they did not feel comfortable entering the structure with him there. The responding officers made contact with the 26-year-old man and asked him to come down the stairs.
The man then took off his pants, and would not listen to officers. When one officer told him to put his sweatshirt back on, he looked the officer in the eye, paused, and spit directly into his face.
The man was taken to Holy Family Medical Center to be cleared medically before being admitted to the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of Discharge of Bodily Fluids at a Public Safety Worker, and six counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
