Two Rivers Police Chief Joe Collins announced his plans to retire after serving 15 years in that capacity and a nearly 35-year career in police work.
The Two Rivers Police and Fire Commission accepted Collins’ retirement At Wednesday night’s meeting along with approving the promotion of Assistant Chief Brian Kohlmeier to Chief of Police effective February 7th.
Kohlmeier, a Two Rivers Native, has served on the TRPD in various capacities over the last 29 years, the last six years as Assistant Police Chief. He issued a statement in Regards to his promotion saying “I am excited and feel extremely fortunate to Be given the opportunity to continue to serve this community and the Police Department as the next chief. I feel privileged to have been part of this department for the past 29 years having had the opportunity to be around such great people.”
Chief Collins addressed the Police and Fire Commission last night saying “I wish to thank each and every one of you for the opportunity to serve this fine city. To all the excellent employees of the Two Rivers Police Department, it has been an absolute honor to have served with such extraordinary men and women.”
